Why Your Restaurant's Website Isn't Bringing in Orders (And How to Fix It)

Speaking as a restaurant owner, let's talk about something that used to drive us crazy - having a website with decent traffic but barely getting any online orders. You know the feeling - you check your Google Business page, see people visiting your website, but the orders just aren't coming in. After years in the industry and helping other restaurants fix their online presence, I've seen exactly why this happens, and how it can be fixed.

Your Website is Slow (Like, Really Slow)

Look, we all know that hungry people are impatient people. When having a website, you need to understand what slows down your page, your website needs to have a good speed score, not just so you can rank on google, but so your websites load times are fast.. Trust me - if your site takes longer than a few seconds to load, those visitors are already hitting the back button.

Here, if you already have a website for your restaurant, check the speed scores here: https://pagespeed.web.dev/

Put in your sites URL, and check to see if your site is up to speed. Part of our services is optimizing this score for your site, this comes standard in all three of our plans.

You're Making It Hard To Order Food

The biggest lesson we learned? Make it dead simple to order. If customers have to click through three pages just to start an order, they're gone. Don't over complicate your site, the customers are on your site to get food, so make that process as seamless as possible for them and user friendy

The Basics Matter (A Lot)

You know what really bugs customers? Not being able to find:

  • Whether you're open right now

  • Where to park

  • If you deliver to their area

  • How to contact you when something goes wrong

Don't lose customers because your site fails to include basic vital information that is so easy to place just on the first page. For some of our clients, we like to place live chat services so that they can communicate with potential customers live, and answer any questions they could have. We've seen many of our clients get orders after communicating with their customers. We can include this in your site as well, for free.

Not Optimized For Mobile Screens

Here's a reality check: most of your customers are trying to order from their phones. If your website looks wonky on mobile and doesn't have a user friendly interface, you're losing money. Simple as that. The key is to make it as easy as possible to place an order.

What Actually Works

  • A menu you can actually read on your phone

  • Clear, obvious way to order

  • Basic important information on your site

  • A smooth mobile experience

  • Website that loads fast

Running a restaurant is hard enough without worrying about all this stuff. But in today's world, your website and online presence is just as important as your kitchen equipment. If it's not working right, you're losing money.

Need help figuring this out? Contact us, let us revamp your site, and get you more customers.
